We as a species are on course to quickly become extinct if we continue to live our lives with blinders on to what is taking place on this planet. We think we are at the top of the food chain for the planet and that we are the chosen ones. We have been able to pretend for millennia that we are in control.
As we are learning more and more about viruses and bacteria, it appears that we are actually the inferior species; at least we are now becoming the inferior species. The overpopulation of this planet and the plagues that arise will be just one of the the factors that will surely doom us as a species, among the many other reasons that you can read about in this site if you are concerned about this planet’s future.
Viruses need hosts in order to replicate. With the world’s population growing at an exponentially alarming rate, it is only a matter of time before we are setting the stage for a feast. The viruses will replicate and evolve, just as we do. It would seem that no amount of prevention will stop this inevitable series of events from happening.
Does Earth have an immune system?
Is it possible that viruses and bacteria are akin to the gut bacteria found in our own human stomachs? Are viruses and bacteria Earth’s was of getting rid of harmful substances in….let’s just say – its “body?”
If so, is there a way to control the species that seek to topple us from the summit of the food chain? These are the types of questions that we should be asking if we want to remain VITO on this planet.
